Feedstock

Around 16 million tonnes of post-farm gate food and drink waste arises annually in the UK. Around half of this is waste is from households, the rest mostly comes from manufacture, retail, hospitality, other businesses and the public sector.

Processing residues, such as bakery or brewery waste, offer good feedstocks and our plant offers food and drink manufacturers a facility to create a sustainable, circular solution for their waste.

We can process most types of food waste, packaged or unpackaged, from right across the UK. With an automated de-packing line, provision has been made to accommodate waste delivered in tankers, on pallets or in specialist skips. In addition to vegetable food waste, we are certified to process Category 2 and 3 animal by-product wastes.
  • All types of palletised food waste.
  • Meat and fish (cooked or raw)
  • Sachets and Stick Packs containing sugar, ketchups, mayonnaise etc.
  • Cooked food (e.g. rice, pasta, vegetables etc) and Ready Meals
  • Bread/pastry
  • Liquids – milk, soft and alcoholic drinks
  • Fruit and vegetables
  • Tea bags, coffee grounds
  • Cereals
  • Canned and plastic bottled drinks
  • Oils and fats
  • All Dairy products
  • Any Category 2 and Category 3 animal by-product (contaminated)
If you’re a commercial food producer or processor with surplus food waste to dispose of, please do get in touch with our team. Let’s work together to redirect waste from landfill back into the circular economy as raw material for future products. Click here
